1. Water Adventures –
Whether whales or others calling the water home, how about a day on the water? There are tours to see whales, dolphins and more from coast to coast. As such, you should be able to find something to your liking whether you live on or near one of the coasts or will travel. Whenever out on the water, always make sure to practice safety. Whether you go out in charge of a boat or you are on someone’s vessel, always respect the seas and Mother Nature.
2. Seeing History –
From Civil War sites to the founding of the country and more, there is plenty to see and do. That said take time before you travel somewhere to get an idea of what you want to see. For instance, is the Civil War of interest to you? If so, sites such as Gettysburg, Bull Run, Antietam and many other spots will whet your appetite. Do your research to see how these all-important battlefields played a big part in the history of America’s deadliest war. If you are into the history of U.S. presidents, there are presidential libraries across the nation. Do your research here too before going to visit one or more.
3. Visiting your Local Library –
You may find surprise at how a visit to your library can be fun and educational. Okay, the latter more times than not makes sense when it comes to a library. That said you can go into your area branch and immerse yourself in a good book for a couple of hours. If you have children, taking them to the library can be one of the best things you could do for them. In the Internet age, too many kids spend a good part of their free time planted in front of a computer screen. When you were a parent, you more times than not had a good book in front of you to read. Make it so your children know what reading a book is like and how fun it can in fact be.
No matter how you go about finding fun and education, be sure to get out there and live it up.
