There’s a new game in town, and Gina is writing all the rules. Or so she thinks. She’s taking some drastic personal measures to turn up the heat during Canada’s icy cold hockey season. She’s set on sampling life’s finer pleasures. But where’s a girl to start? With a list, of course. Creating a spreadsheet with her sexual wish list is just the beginning. Now she needs to cast the starring role. What Gina doesn’t count on is accidently emailing her secret list to Connor, the captain of the Vancouver Reign Warriors hockey team.

Imagine her shock at Connor’s determination to make every item on her list a reality.

Not happening, Gina promises herself. But Connor has different ideas.

Review:

Gina has reinvented herself to achieve her goal of becoming an independent, confident woman. She thought that she was in control, but a mistaken email to the hottest man she has ever laid eyes on proved just how out of control she really was.

Connor has women falling all over themselves to get a piece of him. He is not vain, but he does know his looks and position as the captain of a winning hockey team contribute to his ability to get any woman he wants. Any woman that is, except the one he wants.

Cora Lee Gill is a very pleasant surprise for me. New Game in Town is the first book I have read by this author, but I’m really hoping for many more. The characters are intriguing, the setting was perfect, and the sex scenes…mmm mmm mmm. A wonderful story that got my heart rate jumping.

Marie doesn’t need a complication like Horse. The massive, tattooed, badass biker who shows up at her brother’s house one afternoon doesn’t agree. He wants Marie on his bike and in his bed. Now.

But Marie just left her abusive jerk of an ex-husband and she’s not looking for a new man. Especially one like Horse—she doesn’t know his real name or where he lives, she’s ninety percent certain he’s a criminal and that the “business” he talks with her brother isn’t website design. She needs him out of her life, which would be a snap if he’d just stop giving her mind-blowing orgasms.

Horse is part of the Reapers Motorcycle Club, and when he wants something, he takes it. What he wants is Marie, but she’s not interested in becoming “property of”.

Then her brother steals from the club. Marie can save him by giving Horse what he wants—at home, in public, on his bike… If she’s a very, very good girl, she’ll get lots more of those orgasms only he can offer, and he’ll let her brother live.

Maybe.

Review:

Marie is grateful to her brother for letting her stay with him, rent free, after her soon-to-be ex-husband smacked her around. He has always been there for her, and she will always be there for him. Even if that means allowing herself to be kidnapped as blood collateral by a criminal gang of bikers and claimed by the biggest man she’s ever seen. He is definitely a horse of a different color, and it is all “bad boy black”.

Horse met a beautiful, smart, funny woman who can cook. For some reason, he is drawn to her more than he has ever been drawn to anyone, and when her brother pulls a dumb stunt that has marked him for termination, Horse steps in with a plan to save him and put Marie exactly where he wants her. In his bed.

Reaper’s Property is an edgy romance that depicts a bad ass biker and his newest obsession. The characters are emotional and sexy with realistic personality traits (even the scary ones). The plot was well thought out with twists and turns, not all of which I saw coming, and a very happy ending. The setting was interesting, and the sex was wild and plentiful.

An excellent read for those who love the bad boys.

For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You comes an erotic, emotionally charged romance between a powerful man who’s never heard “no” and a fiery woman who says “yes” on her own terms.

He was the one man I couldn’t avoid. And the one man I couldn’t resist.

Damien Stark could have his way with any woman. He was sexy, confident, and commanding: Anything he wanted, he got. And what he wanted was me.

Our attraction was unmistakable, almost beyond control, but as much as I ached to be his, I feared the pressures of his demands. Submitting to Damien meant I had to bare the darkest truth about my past—and risk breaking us apart.

But Damien was haunted, too. And as our passion came to obsess us both, his secrets threatened to destroy him—and us—forever.

Release Me is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

Review:

A Texan transplant, Nichole (or Nikki as she prefers) Fairchild is new to the LA scene. She’s taken a job in an area where she excels – computer programming and technology. Unfortunately, she is working for a creepy slime ball who wants to use her appearance instead of her brains to snag the monetary support of dazzling billionaire Damien Stark with whom she had a previous tense encounter on the pageant circuit.

At an art gala, Nikki is introduced to Damien, who is very rude to her at first. After escaping the embarrassing moment, she steps outside to look at the art. One particularly erotic piece captures her attention. She isn’t alone in her fascination, as Damien sweeps in, apologizes and talks her into staying at the party.  He also enlists her aide in helping him find a painting for the new house he is building.

With an already tense connection, things heat up quickly between the couple. Nikki has serious emotional and physical issues which does affect their intimacy. Instead of being an overbearing jerk about it, Damien takes this in stride. He slows down the pace to a teasing speed, allowing Nikki to open up to him a little bit at a time. I loved this about him. He is a tortured dominant hero, yet he knows where and when to give and it counts. Eventually, he coaxes the real Nikki out to play and it’s hot but sweet too.

Nikki is dealing with ‘mother issues’. (I hate her mother. There should be a special place just for mothers like her.) She’s still reeling from her sister’s suicide and fights every day with her need to cut to escape her emotional pain. On the other hand she’s independent, sarcastic and fun. I loved the contradictions of her character.  The characterization alone makes Release Me worth the read, but of course there’s so much more. I loved this book and can’t wait for the next one.  J. Kenner is a must read author.

Addison Godwin is a Non-Glam—one of the one in ten thousand humans who is immune to vampire glamour and mind tricks. Her gift enables her to work as an Auditor, enforcing the law that vampires and humans keep their distance from each other except in a purely non-physical way. The law is necessary because when a vampire tries to have sex with a human their blood-lust combines with their sexual appetite and the result looks like road kill.

Alec Corbin is a Four Star Master Vampire with piercing blue eyes and intentions to get Addison into his bed. He promises he can be gentle but Addison has seen way too many vamp/human crime scenes to go for that. She has no interest in the six foot four hunk of sexy vampire man candy, even if he is supernaturally hot.

But just because she Audits (and sometimes executes) vampires for a living, doesn’t mean she hates them all. Her best friend, Taylor, was turned against her will. Now, living as a slave to one of the crueler Master vamps in town, she leads a miserable existence and Addison is helpless to save her within the confines of the law.

Things come to a head when the Vampire Inquisitor comes to town and Taylor is given to him as a sex slave. When Addison sees her best friend tortured, beaten, and burned with silver she knows she has to do something—even if it means teaming up with Corbin and paying the Crimson Debt.

Review:

Addison was just another college kid who was living the dream until her roommate was abducted by vampires and changed against her will. The years of torture that followed has hardened Addison’s heart towards all vampires, and she became an Auditor to exact as much revenge on them as possible. But one vampire seems to draw her like a magnet, and try as she might, she can’t deny that he is completely gorgeous and almost irresistible.

Corbin has been around for over four hundred years. He has learned to change with the times, but he has never found someone to share the long, lonely nights with. Until, that is, his Auditor showed up and started harassing him. She is exactly what he has been longing for, a feisty, fiery woman who is strong enough to be his consort. Now just finding a way to make it happen with the stubborn human is a task to which he is willing to devote all his time and energy.

Evangeline Anderson has wowed me with her Brides of the Kindred series, and now a whole new series has begun. Born to Darkness, Crimson Debt is written in first person, and the flow and dialog are very well done. The characters are amazingly lovable (or hate-able, depending on which one we’re talking about), not to mention sexy and charismatic. The plot is highly imaginative, and the setting is nicely described. Overall, this book will suck you in and make you an addict, hanging from the cliff waiting for the next installment!

Shape-shifting Coteri warrior Talon is mad with jealousy at the thought of Chloe, the woman he loves, being with other men. After a sizzling encounter, Talon is stunned to realize she’s only his—has only ever been his. But his family line is tainted and he knows he isn’t good enough for the torturously tempting redhead.

Spurned by the best friend she betrayed and rejected by the man she wants so badly it hurts, Chloe leaves her home with the Coteri to investigate a series of brutal murders that could have sinister implications for them all.

When he learns there’s a traitor in their ranks and Chloe could be in danger, Talon will move heaven and earth to make sure she’s safe—and to make her his, body and soul.

Review:

Chloe is not a warrior, but she has been trained to fight. When her life falls apart on the personal front, she decides to take on a very risky and dangerous assignment far, far away from those who have hurt her. Little did she know that there was no escaping the one man who hurt her the most.

Talon is not good enough for Chloe. He knows that, but he can’t seem to help himself where she is concerned. He can’t keep his hands, lips or other various appendages off her luscious body, and he knows there will be hell to pay now that he has given in. It really is too bad that he will never be able to keep the one woman he could ever love.

Infinite Surrender is an engrossing book that is very hard to put down. The sex scenes are sizzling, but the plot is intriguing, the setting is wonderful, and the characters are vividly brought to life. I love this series and can’t wait for the next installment. Mina Roarke has always been told she is special. In what way, she’s never fully understood…until circumstances lead her down a path of adrenaline-charged danger and blazing sexual heat, and introduce her to a world she never knew existed.

Mathias, a warrior for a secret shifter race known as the Coteri, has been ordered to protect Mina at all costs. Although his oath to protect her is paramount, can he rein in his animal instincts long enough to avoid claiming the one person he’s forbidden to have?

Reader Advisory: This book contains brief scenes of torture with explicit sexual overtones that some readers might find offensive.

Review:

Mina is hurting and almost completely alone in the world. After the death of her mother, the only person she trusts is her best friend, Chloe. Finding out that her father, whom she thought had died before she was born, is very much alive and well is a shock. Actually finding him is an even bigger surprise, but the absolute biggest surprise of all is discovering that she is not quite human. With all these disturbing events and discoveries in her life, a sudden, instant and almost immediate love-at-first-sight moment is the last thing she expected.

Mathias is one of the king’s favorite generals. He is infinitely loyal and will complete any task assigned to him, including babysitting the never before seen princess. But when the general meets the princess, sparks fly and their connection is undeniable and irresistible. Now that he’s addicted to her, the only problem is not knowing if the king will let him keep his head after marking his daughter.

Infinite Betrayal is an engrossing tale that was hard to put down. The Coteri is a shape shifter race, but it wasn’t quite the same as the typical werewolf story. The main characters have depth and the villains evoke murderous emotions. The plot is interesting and takes a fresh spin on shifters. The setting is interesting – a castle built into a mountain in Germany, among other locales. Overall, it is a highly entertaining, romantic and erotic read.

I was flipping through the channels one day and found a delightful television program called Its Me Or The Dog. The woman who was going in to help people with their dogs issues really got my attention. I started watching the series and fell in love with Victoria Stilwell and her methods of training dogs, that being said when I had the opportunity arise to read her new book on dog training I jumped at the chance.

Train your Dog Positively is filled one of the best dog training books I have found to date.  The first chapters are full of great information about canine behavior and body language.  The chapters about dealing with specific issues are great as well.

I found Train Your Dog Positively to be well written and informative. It was easy to read and easy to understand, the points of the training methods were well illustrated with stories from Victoria’s career as a trainer.

If you have a dog with issues, or want to learn more about Victoria Stilwell’s methods of training then Train Your Dog Positively is one You Gotta Read.

Wherever they travel, there’s an aphrodisiac waiting to whet their appetites…

Brazil…Hawaii…India….As a food writer, Maeve has just been handed the hottest opportunity of her career. She’s being sent on an international research tour for an aphrodisiac cookbook. The downside is that she has to travel with rock star photographer and womanizer Jackson Dodds. And the upside is that she has to travel with Jackson Dodds. Because once they meet, Maeve understands why he’s been named “America’s Most Eligible Bachelor”—and despite her best intentions, all she can think about is putting their arousing recipes to the test…

Sexy and talented, Jackson can have any woman he desires. But lately, the thrill is gone—until he lays eyes on Maeve, who exudes sensuality like no one else. She’s determined to keep things professional, but he knows the attraction is mutual. And as they travel the world, sampling warming saffron, juicy papaya, silky avocado, rare herbs and teas—and a mushroom whose very aroma sends women to heights of ecstasy—both discover a hunger they’ve never known, and don’t want to resist, even amid unexpected danger…

Review:

Maeve has just been handed her dream assignment–Traveling all over the globe to research, write and test little know aphrodisiacs with her long distance writing partner, photographer Jackson Dodds. Also included in the adventure is Chef – a dear friend who is renowned all over the world for his recipes and less known for his very open lifestyle. It’s a dream team until on the cusp of their first trip Chef is found murdered.

With the project in danger of being put on hold, Maeve and Jackson decide to try out the first Saffron recipe on their own before leaving for Chef’s funeral in Mexico. Both Jackson and Maeve are strongly affected by the spice, but initially refuse to acknowledge their attraction.

Suffering vandalism, personal attacks and the death of more people closely tied to the project soon brings them to believe Chef was doing more than cooking up sexy recipes in his kitchen and it just may get them both killed.

Maeve is a strong, sassy heroine. She is in tune with her sexuality and doesn’t hide the fact. Jackson is confident and sexy with a personality that mirrors Maeve’s. Much of the tension between these characters stems from that oneness. Together they conquer the obstacles thrown between them with tenacity, but when it comes to romance, their sexuality and fear of commitment causes them to stray from the destined path. Eventually, they do find their way back to each other. The different types of aphrodisiacs are well researched.

I found the suspense side of this plot well planned. Though one might discover the killer, the motive for murder remained masked until the end. Readers who enjoy sexy romance and heart stopping reads are going to love Saffron Nights. I can’t wait to read the sequel.

Maya Banks, the New York Times bestselling author of erotic romance, romantic suspense, and contemporary romance, has captivated readers with her steamy Scottish historical novels, perfect for fans of Julie Garwood. In Highlander Most Wanted, a reclusive woman content to live in the shadows shows a Highland warrior the true meaning of love.

Genevieve McInnes is locked behind the fortified walls of McHugh Keep, captive of a cruel laird who takes great pleasure in ruining her for any other man. Yet when Bowen Montgomery storms the gates on a mission of clan warfare, Genevieve finds that her spirit is bent but not broken. Still, her path toward freedom remains uncertain. Unable to bear the shame of returning to a family that believes her dead or to abandon others at the keep to an imposing new laird, Genevieve opts for the peaceful life of an abbess. But Bowen’s rugged sensuality stirs something deep inside her that longs to be awakened by his patient, gentle caress—something warm, wicked, and tempting.

Bowen seizes his enemy’s keep, unprepared for the brooding and reclusive woman who captures his heart. He’s enchanted by her fierce determination, her unusual beauty, and her quiet, unfailing strength. But wooing her will take more than a seasoned seducer’s skill. For loving Genevieve, he discovers, means giving her back the freedom that was stolen from her—even if it means losing her forever.

Review:

On her way to be married, beautiful Genevieve McInnes was captured, her guards killed. She has suffered horrific abuse, repeated rape and scarring at the hands of the evil Ian McHugh. Her family and betrothed believes she is dead. No one came to her rescue. A year later, Ian McHugh has been killed, but Genevieve still suffers the abuse of his clan. Ashamed of what her parents will think and with no where left to go, she chooses to hide and remain with those who hate her. She wants to be free, but doesn’t believe she can be until she makes a bargain with Bowen Montgomery.

When Bowen descends on the McHugh keep to reap vengeance for a wrong done against his brother, he is shocked to find the spineless McHughs using a boy as their speaker. Genevieve alone presents strength and courage. Appalled at the way the McHughs treat the young woman, he becomes her protector and soon falls in love with her. Still, his duty to his clan demands she be returned to her father. Even after learning of her betrayal to his clan, Bowen knows he can no longer deny his heart.

Highlander Most Wanted  brings in all the elements of a sweeping historical romance with wonderfully flawed characters that pull your heart right into the story. You want them to find a way to be together. *spoiler alert* When Genevieve returned to her rightful home and family, I actually cried for her. Bowen broke my heart when he let her go. Still, that made the happy ending even better. Maya Banks has written a beautiful romance that proves love conquers all. Get this “gotta read” and savor it.

Book Three in the Undone Lovers series.

As an entertainment lawyer, Emory has his share of famous clients. But when A-lister Sasha Brazil is caught in a sex tape scandal it should have been a PR nightmare, not a legal matter. But Sasha is being blackmailed because her tape shows her bound and begging to be used, everything her hard action-star hero persona isn’t. If the tape gets out her image will be destroyed.

Emory takes Sasha on as a submissive, telling her that she’s safer subbing to him than to a man who might blackmail or betray her. Together they begin a passionate BDSM relationship centered on Emory’s specialty, role-play. The sexual relationship quickly morphs into something more, but Sasha has secrets, and when the man who turned Sasha into a submissive shows up even love may not be enough to save her.

Review:

Sasha is an action star. She’s tough, aggressive and impossible to beat. At least she is in her movies. And in her public persona. In real life, however, she hides the fact that she is a submissive with needs that only a strong Dom can relieve…and she actually wants to be beaten. She travels across the country to Doms she has only met online to try to fulfill the need that claws at her, but her last encounter has ended with a blackmail tape, and the only person she can turn to is her lawyer.

Emory has never been overly impressed with movie stars. They are all divas as far as he is concerned, and with each new breach of contract suit he files, the more he thinks of them all as spoiled brats. He is very surprised when his hottest client asks him to take care of a blackmailer instead of a caterer. And even more surprised when he sees the evidence. His beautiful bombshell is a submissive, and he’s determined that she will be his submissive.

Lila DuBois has written another winner. The characters and the plot are very believable, and the sex scenes are scorching hot. I have added her to my “must read” list.
