A florist by day, vampire Bianca DeLuca stalks werewolves by night. For years she has hunted Raffe Stefano, a notorious werewolf credited with multiple vampire kills.

When Bianca’s apartment goes up in flames, fireman Raffe not only rescues her, but offers the shelter of his apartment. Though he surely can’t be trusted, Bianca accepts his invitation, and they soon learn that their intense feelings for one another are based not in revulsion, but mutual lust. Will one murder the other? Or will passion ultimately consume them, intertwining their destinies forever?

Review:

Bianca DeLuca is a vampire whose mission in life is hunting werewolves, especially Raffe Stefano. She is obsessed with him and though she owns and works at her Buds and Blooms floral shop by day, at night, she is a ruthless stalker. They meet one night in an alley and wound each other but neither is ready to take the kill. They agree to save it for the next time. Later, Bianca’s apartment is consumed with fire and she is trapped in her bedroom and at the last minute a fireman breaks through the door and rescues her. The fireman turns out to be Raffe. She is frazzled and homeless so he offers her a truce and to stay at his place overnight. She makes herself at home in his apartment, on his orders and once he comes home he showers and puts both their clothes in the washer. Upon seeing Bianca’s thong he starts talking about sex and the two of them enter a night of never-ending pleasure for each of them. Bianca asks him if all werewolves have the stamina he has and he confirms it. Finally, she has too much of his cum/venom in her and she blacks out. When she comes to, she is disoriented and wants to forget the whole thing happened and leave. She makes him take her to a street away from her shop so he won’t know where she works. She falls asleep in her chair in the back room of her shop when she hears a scratching at the front door. She goes to it and it’s a dog who when she lets in turns into Raffe. He professes his love to her and attempts to persuade her to be with him forever. He even tells him her sisters in lace have taken up with werewolves. Will Bianca believe him? Will she leave her way of life for a new one?

The author was very explicit just to the perfect point. She took the characters and made you like one and hate the other and then confuse you by adding sex between the two. Her sex scenes were perfectly layed out so you could picture them in your head. The twist of the bad guy turning good was brilliant on her part as you didn’t see it coming. She did an awesome job and I would recommend this book to everyone who likes vampire/werewolf flesh on flesh stories.

After an attack leaves Theron’s allies scattered, Sicily finds herself in the care of Lamon, a vampire who looks like he would rather kill her than protect her. The unlikely pair must become very close – sexual energy is necessary to disrupt the spell the mages are using to track Sicily. Emotions become confused as their bodies entwine. Sicily finds herself falling for a man she can’t have… or can she?

Review :

Sicily is against others owning vampires but when her best friend Ryver needs help in taking the docility charm off her Theron, five mages approach Sicily and convince her they are helping. They give her a stone to give to Ryver to get rid of the docility charm. She gives the charm to Ryver and it works she then returns it immediately to Sicily. It starts to glow and burn in her hand. Lamon, Theron’s second in command throws the stone out the window and it explodes letting a wall full of angry vampires through the castle. Lamon is instructed to take Sicily to a safe house until he is otherwise notified. The two despise each other at first however he convinces her he has to give her an orgasm a day to lessen the charm from the mages. Also, he needs to feed from her as he cannot leave the cabin. Lamon has been trained to protect and desire Ryver but he finds himself falling for Sicily. She wonders if she is having real feelings or just feelings because they are having sex. Once they are released from the safe house and taken back to Therons’ house their feelings are called into question. What will their answers be? Will they have the same feelings or will they shock each other?

The author was very good at character development. It had you rooting for the characters in the end. She also created a great background that it made you feel as if you were there in the story. My only complaint is that the story ended rather abruptly. It built and built to the end point and then just dropped off. The rest of the story was fabulous though. I would recommend it for readers who like vampires, erotica and action.

Humans are for eating and I am not one to play with my food, so I’m baffled as to why one geeky mortal doctor makes me wish our kind could be together without my brand of love being toxic. As if suffering from human emotions isn’t problem enough, our world is about to engage in a war where our chances of survival are slim at best. And no one wants to listen.

But, I didn’t become the general of the vampire Queen’s army by being diplomatic. Everyone will fight in the upcoming battle, or they’ll feed my troops and me. Either way, all things living will do their part.

I am, after all, the Blood Countess: toxic lover to humans, vicious bitch to my enemies, and my word is law.

Review :

Elizabeth Bathory, the once young vampire Countess that bathed in virgins’ blood to stay young is back as Queen Lily’s General. She is next in line if something happens to the Queen which is not a responsibility Elizabeth wants. She would rather be the strong General, training troops and fighting the rising Daemons. It is her opinion that they need to educate the human population so that they might fight together against the Daemons, however the Queen does not think the humans are ready for that kind of information just yet, leaving the vampires alone to fight them. They’ve asked for help from the Dwarves, Dark Faeries, Merpeople, Pixies and Shifters. Queen Lily arranges for Dr. Raphael Angelus to come and observe/test Elizabeth, something that infuriates her but she will not go against her Queen. When the Doctor arrives, Elizabeth notices how handsome he is despite the nerdy glasses with his blonde hair and blue eyes. He hangs on her every word, takes her blood and observes her with her troops within her compound. She turns on her sexual prowess but he does not physically react which makes Elizabeth furious. On night she decides to take him out hunting Daemons. They come across one and she jumps into action only to be overpowered by a second. A beam of light comes from out of nowhere and kills the Daemon on top of her. She brings the first Daemon back to the lab for testing. He teases both Elizabeth and calls Raphael “A Shining One”. Once questioned, he refused to fight the Daemons so Elizabeth has him banished from the castle. He calls every day but she refuses to speak with him but realizes she loves him. They are reunited and she proclaimed she cannot have sex with him because the juices her pussy produces kill humans. Will they be able to consummate their love? Will she kill him? Who is he really? Who is this “Shining One” as he’s called?

The author has done a wonderful job in creating characters you really feel like you know and like. I could actually see the characters in my mind. She created a great scene that went alone with the characters as well. She drew me in and made me want to keep reading. I would recommend this book for those readers that like a strong female lead character, action and vampires.

Evie Remington had always done what people expected of her. As a result, at twenty-six she finds herself the unhappy owner and manager of a Denver hotel. That is, until deep-rooted memories of a past life and the hidden knowledge of a promise she made in that other lifetime pulls her away from it all. Without knowing where it will lead, Evie sets out on a cross-country journey that will challenge what she believes about life, death, and love.

Review :

The day she turns twenty-six years old is the day Evie Remington’s life changes forever. She starts having realistic dreams about a man named Jude who calls her Bria in the dreams. They are very real and push her to sleep every night craving her nightly “Jude fix”. She decides to give up the hotel her father left her when he died on the spur of the moment to go on a search for Jude. Her staff is shocked when she leaves one day, doesn’t return for a few days and then finally calls and turns it over to her secretary and lifelong family friend.

She just started driving, like on autopilot but it wasn’t until that night’s dreams that revealed she should go to Oregon. Once there she dreamed of the ocean and a rock formation. While driving the next day, she found that rock formation. She crawled out onto it and searched as if she knew what she was looking for. She had an “Aha” moment when she found a heart with the initials JH+BL inside it. Evie found an article written by Dr. Rick Morrison from the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine. He wrote about past lives so she just knew he could help. She flew to Virginia only to find out Dr. Morrison had passed away two weeks ago. She did however meet with his Intern Kyler. He did some research and found out that Bria Lamont and Jude Hartley were born and died on the same day. He stated Jude died at the Hotel Del Coronado in California but there was no record of death or Bria. Evie thanked him for the information and headed to California to the hotel.

Easton Clark had an immaculate home built for him and Bria in North Carolina but first he had to find her this century. He returned to their old haunt the Hotel Del Coronado and each night would sit at the bar all night waiting for her. Though he knew she would look different this time, he knew he’d recognize her soul. Would she return? Why did they both have the same death date?

The author did a great job developing these sets of characters and keeping them straight for the reader. The way it was ended was perfect but you’ll have to read it to find out how it ends. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance/mystery.

The Civil War has torn Belle Holloway’s world apart. Left to manage her Georgia plantation with little help, she is exasperated when the Union Army adds to her burden by leaving a wounded soldier behind. But upon closer examination, Belle is shocked to discover the soldier is actually a beguiling woman.

Clad in male attire, stubborn, brash Alice O’Malley awakens a passion in Belle she never knew existed. Alice dominates Belle’s lonely existence with taboo pleasures and erotic escape. Soon Belle realizes she is more than willing to submit her body and her heart to the woman whose strength and compassion she admires — until those very attributes prove to be the catalyst that could destroy their newfound love.

Review :

Belle Holloway lost almost everything she had to the Yankee Army and war. Her husband and brother went off to fight in the war; the Yankees looted her house, took her livestock and killed her Pa. So when they came back through, Belle was willing to take in their two wounded to save her plantation house from being burned down. The first was a man with a horrible stomach injury who cried out and was delirious. They left him with no pain or sedative medications, only bandages. The second was a young man with a bad thigh wound who could no longer keep up with the group and had become feverish. Upon further investigation, this second man turned out to be a feisty woman who had cut her hair short and liked to wear “breeches”. She was fighting to punish the Confederates who owned slaves and make sure they get set free. After calling in Atlanta’s local herbologist, Granny, Alice started to feel better but couldn’t take the constant wailing of the first soldier so she put him out of his misery by shooting him in the head. Belle was appalled by this woman in her home but had vowed to keep her alive and curiosity was running through her at the type of woman that would put herself through this. As time passed, Belle started feeling things, both sexually and emotionally (though she denied the emotions) for Alice but was beguiled about having a relationship with another woman. It was clear that Alice had fallen in love with Belle but could Belle bring herself to reveal her true feelings to Alice? During future Yankee raids, would Alice be forced to leave Belle and go back to serving in the war? Would Belle lose another person she loved?

Paisley Smith did a wonderful job making the reader feel like you were really there, living through the war. She gave you strong emotions for each character and left you rooting for Belle in the end. The sexual scenes were very well created and formed a vivid picture in my mind. It was like I was right there in the scenes with the characters as they unfolded around me.

In doing so, Jessica and Prey fall for each other while trying to protect themselves from Aphra’s attacks on Jessica. Will evil win over goodness? Will Jessica survive to love Prey and will he change her to live with him forever as a vampire?

Claudia Rose has put together an action packed story worthy of reading. The main characters were well developed and endearing to the reader. They had you rooting for them all the way to the end. The progression of the story moved along so quickly it was over before you realized and left you wanting more. The sexual chemistry between Prey and Jessica was very steamy and painted a great picture in the readers mind. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves vampires with a twist. Amelia Staker meets her Internet lover, John Quincy, for the first time in the flesh. After a year of seeing John only through webcam, she’s ready to show him a good time. Without a moment to waste, Amelia is prepared for two weeks with John-alone, with no computer screens between them-until the elevator puts a hold on those plans. Stuck in a darkened cab, their imaginations run hotter than their online trysts. Can this romance translate into a permanent future? Or will she send him packing?

Review :

Computer savvy Amelia Staker finds love and more in John Quincy. A chance meeting online leads to webcams, cybersex and even phone sex. It takes several months but John finally makes it out to California to meet Amelia. First thing that happens is they get stuck together in the dark in her apartments’ elevator. They make the most of their time and enjoy the release the internet and phone could not provide. Once out and in her apartment, they both profess their love. Will John move to California to be with Amelia? Will they be forced to continue their long distance relationship? Is John hiding something at home?

The plot, though I craved more was well thought out. The whole “internet sex/relationship” thing is very popular these days so it made the story very contemporary and relatable. The characters were very much the every day person next door so the reader could easily replace themselves into the story. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for romance and erotic sex in a tight little bundle.

While Rita feels she has a connection with Agent Boulet, she senses he is holding back a deep dark secret about the killer. Her suspicions deepen when she learns another secret about her Roma family-one she finds impossible to swallow.

Review :

Gypsy girl, Rita Moldova is of Romanian descent. Her mother is old school, she reads tea leaves and palms. Rita has a secret gift. She wears an amulet that gives of signals of good and bad. It has allowed her in the past to see into the eyes of the dead people they recover. The new FBI Agent, Matt Boulet who’s come into town from New Orleans has a secret gift too. He is searching for the same killer Rita’s department has been looking for. The killer exsanguates all the blood from the victims, cuts a hole in their neck and dumps the bodies somewhere random. Rita is caught by the killer on a sting operation but when he samples her blood he calls her poison and dumps her out of his vehicle. Rita and Matt go to her mother for answers. Together, they find out that the killer is a long lost relative of Rita’s and he is a vampire. Will they be able to stop Lucian before he can kill again? Who will lose their life in battling him? Will Matt and Rita not only come together at work but come together in the bedroom as well? What is Matt’s secret?

The development of the characters in this story was great. The background on Rita was well developed and placed perfectly in the story. She was very likeable, strong yet innocent in a way. The lack of background for Matt made him more mysterious at first. He was the outsider. The mysterious knight in shining armor. The whole back story on Lucian was brilliant and well placed within the story. He was really so awful and you really got the sense of that from reading it. I really connected with the characters and when we lost one of them, I actually felt a brief sense of loss myself.

I found the story to be very interesting with a new twist on the old vampire story. It was written so well it was as if I was right there in the book with the characters. The chapters were short and kept you moving quickly through the book. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone who loves a little action, paranormal and suspense in their readings.

Out of work paranormal investigator Ken Parker arrives in Groverton. He meets and falls in love with cute red-headed Jinny Talbot. He gradually realizes that there is magic in the town, good witches and evil warlocks, and sees a war looming between the two. He discovers that his girlfriend Jinny is a witch, and more surprisingly, that he himself is too. As battle with the warlocks draws nears, Ken joins with Jinny and the witch covens to fight the warlocks and the Ghost of Mordecai Grover.

After being kicked out of his Montcalm College owned apartment and his tenure revoked after his TV series went too Hollywood, Dr. Ken Parker is forced to ‘take a vacation’, according to his lawyer who gives him a credit card and pushes his out the door. Ken gets ‘mental itches’ which have always helped him as a Professor in the Institute for Paranormal Studies Department of Montcalm College. This ‘mental itch’ also took him to a little town called Groverton, three states away from where he’d called home for so long. It was one of those small towns where everyone knew everyone else and strangers were immediately noticed and untrusted. Except for Mamie’s Eats waitress Jinny Talbot.

When Ken came in and had lunch she knew there was something different about him. When he touched her hands to get his change before leaving, he felt a tingling, which his years of training told him she was a witch. But she didn’t look like a witch and she was so willing to help him and friendly. He couldn’t ever rely on his intuitions so he dismissed it and went on his way to enjoying his time with his new cute, red-headed new friend. She showed him around town and even got him a room to rent in the house she was renting from. Later that same night, the towns covens came together to talk about the newcomer. Jinny insisted he was a witch and a good one but some were not convinced. She already loved him and knew he had a sister that was paralyzed and was probably a witch as well. She asked her grandmother, Mamie to heal Alicia. She said if they found out Ken was a good witch they would try but he would have to prove himself. While antique shopping he found a sword in a sheath on a shelf that he had to have. By the time Jinny came into the store it was too late. He had bought the sword and had unsheathed it which no one had been able to do according to the store clerk. He called his friend Mike to come to town to visit him and teach him how to use the sword. Jinny also felt Mike was a good witch. Little ‘coincidences’ around town kept him from learning about the town and its history. Finally one day, he caught the library open, lied about still being a professor and got the book he needed that explained the whole story behind the town.

An unknown person came to Hazelnut Valley, as it was called at the time and was looking to buy a big house with lots of land. At the time, they didn’t have such a place that was within the city limits so Mordecai Grover bought a big house on a little land and sought to build on property outside of the limits. After a series of unfortunate events and deaths, he finally got himself appointed Mayor of the city and renamed it Groverton. He was a warlock and had Balkashir demons doing his dirty work for him. The local witches found a way to get rid of all of the demons after losing two of their girls to Grover and his cohort Absalom Cowper, each girl pregnant with one of their babies. The high priestess of city rallied the other covens to attack the warlocks after they took and sacrificed a young local boy. The high priestess was killed along with Grover but the house remained on the ridge.

Ken had explored that ridge and saw a car he recognized coming and leaving out of it. The car was that of his old department head, Dr. Farley Josephson from Montcalm. He thought that was the strangest ‘coincidence’ he’d come across but now he knew the truth about the people here in Groverton and confronted Jinny. She agreed it was all true and Mamie, the current high priestess, still unsure if Ken was good or evil asked him to go through their test ceremony. He did and passed with notable strong magical powers. The women agreed to go heal Alicia and when she turned up in town, she surprised Ken to be walking and that she was also a witch. With the three extra witches, the covens were hoping the ensuing battle with the warlocks would be a little easier. The warlocks conjured up the ghost of Mordecai Grover who turned out to be the grandfather of Dr. Wilton, the other person that fired Ken and partner of Farley Josephson.

Both sides took losses during the battle but Ken took on the ghost and Jinny remembered reading from a book as a child that you have to castrate a ghost to kill it. Ken fought and fought but nothing seemed to hurt the ghost until he tried Jinny’s suggestion and then the ghost and his followers burst into flames. When the witches came off the hill, emergency medical teams were waiting for them. The City Council offered Mamie the job of Mayor and she accepted with the condition that the town’s name be returned to Hazelnut Valley. Jinny and Ken got married and were going to start looking for a house when Ken received a phone call. It was from the Chancellor of Montcalm College asking him to be the Department Chairman for Paranormal Studies. Wilton and Josephson had been taking the department’s money and sent them into bankruptcy but they wanted him to chair it. Jinny and Ken decided to wait and buy a house in Brentwood near the college.

This was a riveting tale of mystery, romance, suspense and deceit. The romance that builds slowly between Ken and Jinny was very cute. The witches in the town communicating telepathically all around him and his not knowing it was hysterical. The mystery surrounding the towns origins were brilliant and once he finally realized them and the deceit around him was a great climax. The battle scene was a little bit of a letdown as it was over too quickly but it was still interesting. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a little witchcraft, suspense, humor with a touch of sweet romance.

When a new hieroglyphic alphabet is discovered on an ancient Egyptian scroll, expert archaeologist Joslyn Wetherly is called in to decipher it. Joslyn is obsessed with the scroll, and that obsession threatens her marriage.

But soon her life is threatened as the secrets of the scroll prove dangerous. Before Joslyn realizes what is happening, she is embroiled in a rivalry between two long-dead pharaohs, their Egyptian gods, and past life karmas.

Will Joslyn survive the secrets revealed in the scroll? Or will she be the next victim of the ancient feud?

What a great tale of romance, action, “sacrifice, treachery and obedience to the gods”. This story has a little bit of something for everybody in it. It keeps you guessing all the way to the end where the information takes a surprising turn.

Joslyn Weatherly is a workaholic. She deciphers hieroglyphics from ancient scrolls and her latest project has her full attention putting herself and her marriage to Peter in jeopardy. After many promises to come home early to spend time with him, Peter decides to leave her when he gets a phone call from the hospital. Joslyn has been in a horrible accident and they are worried she will slip into a coma. He sits vigilant by her side, remembering how much he loves her and decides to stay. While she is unconscious, she has a dream where she is called Grandma Merit by Miw, her granddaughter and is invited to come to the Pharaoh Hatchepsut palace. Miw gets her ready and they go to the palace to find out that the dying Hatchepsut wants Merit to record her life story for fear of it being erased, slandered and the real truth would go untold. Merit sits the night and writes the story and in the morning she sends Miw to get the Pharaoh’s daughter. When the two girls return, the two old women are dead. Joslyn wakes up and her first concern is the scroll. She realized that it’s become her duty to make sure the world knows the truth from the scroll. Peter is enraged though he agrees to stay with her. Upon further attempts to decipher the scroll, all she hears in her head is the old Hatchepsut talking but she can’t translate that into English. She and her boss Sam decide to travel to Cairo to the university there to meet with Ali Yousef to help with the translation, further enraging Peter but he agrees to give Joslyn 10 days to finish with all the research and come back to him. Once there, Sam starts acting strange and in Ali’s office, Joslyn has an out of body experience where Hatchepsut spoke with the two men telling them ‘Merit’ will speak the scroll with them tomorrow. They translate the scroll which tells them where the Pharaoh is buried and they start to arrange for an excavation team. Joslyn insists on going home and argues with Sam but finally gets her way.

Sam and Ali along with an excavation crew and some students from the university all head out to the dig site and begin the excavation. On the first wall they uncover, the students come across a ‘curse’ that states, beware upon entry and anyone who steals from the tomb shall meet their doom. They are scared but encouraged to move on by Ali. Sam starts searching the chambers for something and swears as he looks around the statues in each chamber move or are watching him. Sam keeps hearing ‘Senunumunt, come to me’ as he searches. Finally he finds the hequ septor he is looking for. He believes it will make him Pharaoh of all Egypt, something that should have been his centuries ago. He pulls it from its place in stone and a nest of giant hornets attack him, cutting him open and inserting their poison and he is dead almost instantly. Hatchepsut laughs and reveals Sams death to Joslyn. She and Peter decide to go to Egypt to finish the excavation in Sam’s place. Ali is only civil to Joslyn and the same goes for her. One night, she is lead into the sand storm by an invisible force only to find out its Ali (who turns out to be Tuthmosis III-the nephew that assumed the throne after Hatchepsut) and he attacks her. From behind, Peter attempts to save her but Ali badly injures Peter and disappears. Joslyn is left to pull Peter into the tomb but she is too small and Peter is too heavy. She calls upon the gods for help and they shine their light down on her and give her the strength she needs to pull him in. Once inside, Anubis moves to Peter to help heal him. Thoth gave Joslyn the septor to draw Ali into the tomb so he can decide his fate. Joslyn leaves the tomb and Ali is waiting and pounces on her. He tells her that Merit was buried in a slave’s grave and that is why her spirit keeps coming back to earth instead of being in the palace of Osiris until her wrong has been righted. Then the septor shines a light to distract him and she is able to push him into the tomb where Thoth is waiting. He is taken to have his heart weighed and it is heavier than a feather so he is sent into a void for forever. Joslyn returns to Peter whom as he awaken realizes is Wosret, Merit’s beloved husband who died one month before their son married. She honored him by never remarrying because she loved him so much. He honored her by giving up his place in the palace with Osiris to keep returning to earth to be with her. As they end their trip and Joslyn gives her press conference to the Egyptian Press, she watches Peter who is looking on proudly. She rushes the questions so she can hurry off to be with him. On last scroll appears to her on the elevator with him telling her to enjoy each other.

I have to say, I really enjoyed this story. It was well written yet it could have been a little more descriptive when it came to the Egyptian things to portray their immaculate beauty. However, the story was great and the twist at the end with all three of the characters being from the past was a great idea. I really found it heartwarming that he loved her so much that he chose to keep coming back to be with her. That’s true love.
