The Heart of Winter, 2
For Winter Shae Perri there is only one man meant for her, Austin Carlyle. That is, until their fairy tale life is shattered the night before they are to be married.
Winter retreats deep within herself, hiding behind her romance novels, until sixteen years later she is startled to life by none other than Hollywood heartthrob, Cayden Cain.
Cayden will have her questioning reality, because when she looks at him, she sees the face of Austin looking back at her.
Note: The Heart of Winter is a 4-book continuing series. It is best read in order.
Review:
Winter Wells is the pen name for Winter Perri. She is a lonely, broken woman who is reclusive and wants nothing more than to stay that way. She may be alive, but her heart and soul died sixteen years ago, the night before her wedding, with her fiancé and soulmate. Fate is unkind to have left her on this earth when her reason for living was taken in a horrible car crash. Now fate is being even more cruel by shoving her in the path of a man who looks, sounds and even acts just like her lost love.
Cayden Cain has no idea why, but he has dreamed of a beautiful woman named Winter. She has the most amazing emerald eyes, and she is petite and beautiful, but she is a figment of his imagination. Or at least he thought so until he sees his dream walking towards him calling another man’s name as if she has seen a ghost. He wants her, and he will have her. One way or another.
Requiem is the second installment in the Heart of Winter series. The writing is a little stronger in this book than the first, and there were fewer typos/grammatical errors than the first. The plot is very emotional, and I was not a happy camper to find myself crying for over half the book. Time does not heal all wounds, but for Winter, Cayden has finally arrived to help mend her broken heart. I am very glad that I have book 3 already installed on my tablet, because I can’t wait to see what happens next.
