Divine Living: The Essential Guide To Your True Destiny

by Anthon St Maarten

Awaken your Divine Self. Achieve your Soul Purpose. Accomplish your Life Calling. Divine Living: The Essential Guide To Your True Destiny is the new practical spirituality handbook considered to be the sincere seeker’s alternative to The Secret. It is the definitive guide to finding your unique soul purpose and manifesting a truly happy and fulfilling life.

Excerpt from Divine Living

“You are not who you think you are. You are not that face you see in the mirror every morning. You are not someone’s child, or someone’s parent, or partner or friend. You are not the physical body you admire or criticize when you take a shower, or when you get dressed. Neither are you the profile description on your social networking page, or your impressive title at work, or the name on your high school diploma or your driver’s license. You are not defined by your career, or the things you own, or the family and friends you love. You are not a name or an address, or a six-figure salary.

You are one thing and one thing only. You are a Divine Being. An all-powerful creator. You are a deity in jeans and a t-shirt, and within you dwells the infinite wisdom of the ages and the sacred creative force of All that is, will be and ever was.

Do you remember how spiritually aligned, connected and aware you were as a young child? Remember how it felt to be so wonderfully conscious, wide-eyed and receptive? The world was a magical place of adventure, discovery and exhilaration. You then still had a vague memory of being created in the image of the Divine. As a recent arrival on the planet, you still had some recollection of that ‘other place’ you had come from – that state of Pure Consciousness, of Celestial Power, infinite Creative Intelligence and everlasting Unconditional Love. In that pure, original state you were eternal peace and perfection personified. You were a crystal clear, meta-dimensional snapshot of God’s image in high-definition Technicolor.

You still are that original cosmic entity, but you chose to be incarnated as a human being to have a physical life experience. You decided to come to planet Earth for an alternative adventure. You volunteered for the ride, and your original aim was to experience, learn, evolve, expand and most of all, to have fun!

So, come on, go take another look in that mirror and say ‘hello’ to the physical incarnation of your Divine Self. There you are – the pure expression of Divinity! Now, take a deep look into your own eyes, for they are the windows of the soul. There you will recognize the ‘real you’, an incarnation of Infinite Goodness and Joyous Life. Meet your ever-present Higher Self, your True Self, the Soul Essence of where you come from and the reason why you came here. This ‘essential you’ has been around all this time, since before your birth, and for millennia before that. All you needed was someone to remind you of that fact; to awaken you from the unconscious, habituated fog that was your conditioned earthly life until now.

You are not a human being having a spiritual experience. You are a spiritual being having a thrilling human experience. So, now you know who you really are. No more daily drudgery. No more ‘merely surviving’. No more reality coma. No more feeling sorry for yourself. No more excuses. Consider yourself awakened.

Interview with author Anthon St Maarten

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Initially, I wanted to be exactly what I am now. It was either that or a trapeze artist. There was also a brief moment when I wanted to be a cowboy, after I saw Clint Eastwood in the film Dirty Harry. I also wanted to be Aladdin, because I thought flying carpets were really cool! In truth, I always had a sense of what I was meant to do in life, but growing up in the prejudiced, conformist society that was South Africa under Apartheid I eventually began to view my psychic heritage as a shameful secret. It took a major detour and several traumatic life events to get me back to my calling later in life. Of course, in those days we also did not have TV shows like Ghost Whisperer, Medium or Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal. In fact, we did not even have television in my country until 1976, because the government at the time considered it a communist threat to the nation’s morals. The only books I could find in the school library, to help me understand my extra sensory experiences, were about things like palmistry and the evils of witchcraft. I certainly did not have any decent psychic role-models; it was either Sissy Spacek in the movie Carrie, or the stereotypical gypsy fortune-tellers in my comic books. In those days it was inconceivable to pursue a professional career in metaphysics or the paranormal.

What books have most influenced your life?

The most profound spiritual influences in my life definitely came from the classic works by the leading New Thought authors of the late 19th and early 20th century. I was also much inspired by the modern authors who followed in their footsteps, such Jane Roberts, Jerry and Esther Hicks, Don Miguel Ruiz, Louise Hay and Deepak Chopra. I don’t read much fiction, but if I had to choose I would say my favorites are The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield and This Perfect Day by Ira Levin. I still cannot understand why the latter has never been turned into a movie.

Tell us about your latest book.

Divine Living is a practical guide to your true destiny. It is a self-help manual for reclaiming your spiritual birthright and to enjoy a truly awakened and abundant life. I wrote it for people who feel unable to manifest what they truly want in life; or who feel that their life has no direction or purpose. It is not a book about religion, neither does it aim to change anyone’s religious beliefs, but it does require a relatively open mind. The book has its roots in my work as a spiritual teacher and destiny coach and started out as a guide for my clients and students. It was inspired by my own traumatic spiritual journey, as well as the many experiences and success stories of my clients over the years. It contains many practical guidelines, metaphysical tools and spiritual self-care exercises that anyone can master. I felt it my duty to share what I had learned thus far, in the hope that it would open the door for anyone who may also be looking for meaning and purpose in their life.

Do you have anything new in the works and can you tell us a bit about it?

Yes, I am working on two new books. The first deals with extra sensory perception (ESP) and psychic ability stripped of all the esoteric ‘mumbo jumbo’. It is a common sense book which I hope will clear up some of the confusion and superstition that currently exists. There is simply too much fluff and ‘woo-woo’ out there which still keeps truly gifted people in the spiritual closet and does very little to reduce public prejudice and ignorance. The second book explores modern love relationships from a metaphysical perspective. Once again, I aim to clear up some of the myths and misnomers regarding karma, soulmates and twin flames, soul contracts and past life connections. I also want to empower the reader to attract more fulfilling relationships and manifest the ideal life partner. We are currently entering into a new era of conscious human evolution and a global paradigm shift. The nature of romantic relationships is changing radically and a new approach is needed if you are going to have a successful love life in the new age. We can no longer apply the traditional rules of romance that governed love in the time of our parents and grandparents. Today’s spiritually awakened single person needs a brand new set of tools of survive the post-modern dating scene, and I aim to provide it in my next book.
