Where do you hail from and what do you love most about your hometown?
I live in a small town in Georgia right now, near Savannah. I love this area because of all the history around. It’s too hot in the summer, though. (I settled here two years ago. I was born and raised in Ohio.)
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a country music singer and songwriter. Then I realized I didn’t sing very well.
Tell us about your latest book.
I have a new book that just came out July 11. It’s book three in The Sisters Callaway series with Desert Breeze Publishing.
Do you have anything new in the works and can you tell us a bit about it?
I just put the end to a more erotic romance (for me) called Winning the Bet. I’m letting it rest now before I go through it again before I write up the blurb and synopsis. This book is a little different for me.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging about writing?
My biggest problem is starting new things. I have a hard time starting a new book, or chapter, or scene. Beginnings are hard for me.
What advice would you give to writers just starting out?
Just write. The more you write, the better you will be. And don’t forget to read.
Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?
Yes. For me it’s because I’m not listening to my characters. I usually put the book aside for a bit and work on something else. I usually have more than one book going on at the same time.
What tools do you feel are must-haves for writers?
A computer of their own, a dictionary and thesaurus, and internet.
Where do you as an author draw the line on gory descriptions and/or erotic content?
I don’t do gory stuff. As for the erotic, my stuff is more sensual rather than erotic. It’s always one man with one woman throughout the book. I don’t think I will ever write a threesome, but some of my characters have been involved in them in their past.
