Firstly I’d like to thank the lovely ladies at You Gotta Read Reviews for having me here today.
When it came to writing this post, I have to admit my mind went blank. People say write about what you love, but I already talk enough about writing and reading on my blog. So that leaves my second greatest love…music.
I love all kinds of music. Whether it be soul, jazz, rap or pop, I bet I have something of every genre in my iPod. I have my favourites, of course. Whitney Houston was a legend in my eyes, and I can’t get enough of Rihanna right now.
But what I really love is finding new bands and artists! A radio station here in Scotland used to put on gigs for bands and singers. On these nights they’d invite talent scouts from record labels. I remember eight years ago, when I was in my late teens, me and a few friends used to go to these gigs and the talent was amazing.
Don’t get me wrong, there were some who could empty a bar before they even got to the mic, but mostly we met some fabulous bands and singers before they became famous. Take Paolo Nutini for example. He was just a young lad from Paisley with a crazy accent, but when he sang, his voice is sexy enough to rival Bono’s. Seriously, search for his stuff on YouTube! You’ll see what I mean.
I guess my early love for music, as well as romance, is how I came up with the idea for The Price of Fame Series. Being a reality TV show nut, a lover of raw talent and a devourer of all things romance, I thought I’d mash them all together and voila, The Monster of Fame (book 1) was born!
I love hearing about new bands, singers or a hot new pair of shoes! If you fancy a natter you can find me lurking about here:- Twitter blog Facebook.
I’m also giving a copy of my book, The Monster of Fame, away today to one You Gotta Read Reviews readers. Happy reading!
