Where do you hail from and what do you love most about your hometown? I hail from (and I am SO embarrassed to say because of all the TV shows that depict us badly) Hillsborough, New Jersey. I love my town because there are farms galore everywhere, ranging from produce to milk to horses. I love NJ because we cover it all: city, beach, mountains, farm, lakes – all within a short drive. It’s really a great state and we are NOTHING like Jersey Shore! LOL
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a vet or a marine biologist. What I ended up being is a Production Director for an advertising agency who now writes about being a marine biologist! LOL
Tell us about your latest book. Love Down Under is a wonderful compilation of vacation stories by myself and 3 other wonderful authors. I particularly love my story The Adventure of a Lifetime because it’s take place in Australia and I have such a thing for that country. So much so, that I named my youngest daughter Sydney! I have never had the opportunity to travel there so I was very excited to live vicariously thought my main character.
Do you have anything new in the works and can you tell us a bit about it? Oh my yes! I have quite a few things in the works.
- I have my first novel The Cliff coming out this September.
- There’s my short story Snapshot to Destiny which will be in the Halloween anthology BeWitched come this October.
- I have a new young adult series I’m starting now called Spirited Grounds which will release a new story every two months starting this October.
- DEEP BREATH
- I have my next novel The Purple Heart (which is my BABY) releasing March of 2013.
- And I am just finishing writing a new novel which I am extremely excited about but no release date there as have no contracts yet. I am so stoked about this one as I have some great people partnering with me on this.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging about writing? Just finding the time to write. I’m a mom, wife and I work full time!
What advice would you give to writers just starting out? Just enjoy what you’re doing. Once it becomes work, then you need to stop and step back. You should enjoy writing. Also – never give up!
Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it? Nope. My stories tell me what happens. My characters are quote relentless when they want their story to be told. If they have nothing to say, I don’t write until they do. Does that sound strange? LOL
Who is your favorite author and why? I love Stephen King and the reason is just so simple – he’s just an amazing story teller!
What books have most influenced your life? Oh the Twilight Saga. I just love those books and they just changed who I am! LOL Not sure I can explain why but being a part of The Fandom with so many other people all over the world just brought so much more into my life. I have so many wonderful friends I just have never met. They are such a FIERCE group of people! LOVE THEM ALL!
Where do you as an author draw the line on gory descriptions and/or erotic content? I don’t. LOL Although I did make myself blush re-reading one of my sex scenes! I feel like I need to let my reader feel everything so I give them everything!
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever done in the name of research? I plan to go swimming with sharks. Can’t tell you any more than that as of now. But stay tuned!
