Blog Tour: Bella Morte Anthology – Carly Wallace

So, I have been asked to share my journey on becoming an author. I’m not sure where to start, so at the beginning sounds good to me. I was browsing FaceBook, looking for honest and trust worthy people to chat with, when I happened across a few people who welcomed me in like I was part of the family. I became an administrator on the Paranormal Book Club page, and that is where it all began. I was given a book to read and review. Awaken Me by Emily Gossett.  Emily was so unbelievably nice to me, and supportive of my review, soon it seemed a land slide began. I won’t say it was easy, because I never give less than 5 stars.  Doing that makes a lot of people question my loyalty, and they say I’m giving high reviews for gifts. This is not true. I have a simple view on books; that is that every book will be loved by someone, somewhere, and it’s part of what I do to help the two connect.

I have spent over a year reading and reviewing for some of the most amazing people. I have read books that have made me smile, made me laugh, and made me want to write my own stories as well. I have become a part of a great group of people. They support me and they want to see me progress. My reviews are sought out and wanted, but all of this seems very surreal to me. I am just me. I work a normal job in a pizza place, and read in my off time, but I also have a story to tell. And because of the amazing friends I have met, it is now going to be told. I got my break via Rue Volley, who fell in love with two of my poems, and had them added to her upcoming release Bella Morte from Hot Ink Press. Soon to follow, also from Hot Ink Press, will be my first erotic short story called Southern Summer a series in progress. If it weren’t for the friends I’ve made, and the support I’ve been shown, my story would fall on deaf ears, because it would probably never have been told.

If I could offer anyone wanting to get into reviews and writing a piece of advice, it would be this, be positive in your life, keep your head up and ask for the chance. People won’t know what you want unless you tell them. If a book interests you, read it, review it, and then post it for the author to see. Indie authors are supported by the readers. They want us to help them, and they are so appreciative, from there it’s all about how hard you’re going to work. Thank you for stopping by, keep an eye out for me and all of my publishing family at Hot Ink Press and Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing. We have some new and fantastic things coming.
